Incursions

When the trailers for Eve Incursion were launched my eyes lit up like Hans solo’s first peek at princess Leia’s slug slave outfit, after de-icing from Carbonate……ok fellow geeks I know he had temporary loss of sight but you get the picture! It looked sinister, deadly and intriguing. Wrath of Kan meets Nemesis with a little serenity reaper and Borg chucked in to measure awesome (big smiley face). So when it when it was launched you’d expect me to be first in queue for Borg bashing right? Wrong I completely ignored it and went about my business spinning my ship … now in the fitting window and trying my best to automatic sit down on the sofa from various positions in the Encarna quarters other than directly in front of it. Which is quite a challenge, try it. I don’t know why it took me so long to get involved. I was still deep in 0.0 enjoying the PvP sanctums and faction drops I suppose. So it wasn’t until I moved back to hi sec looking for new adventures that the opportunity crossed my fuzzy mind. I had recently completed the command ships skill and wanted to give the Slepnir a go. I used Eve fitting tool and came up with a fairly credible fit based on what I and others had been discussing on incursion chat. I say discussing what I really meant was stealing and modifying. With its cold war sub, blood red bleached widows glowing like a dark Jedi’s favourite oil lamp….you though I was going to say light sabre didn’t you? Light sabres are not real and therefore have no place in my scientifically realistic space tale about an amazing virtually realistic space death simulator known as EVE online! I zipped between star gates and danced amongst concord ships as I headed towards the nearest staging system. In my mind concord pilots were saluting me for my heroic direction in the face of possible Sansha death…….well ship death anyway. I pondered for a second thinking on this. I will be safe within my capsule when my ship explodes but what of my crew? Has any capsular given a second thought to those that lay down their life night after drunken night? Perhaps one day a bonus system based on crew. length of service and skill type may force us to think of the forgotten victims...... a nice looking ship passed me, i took a sip of coffee and forgot what i had been thinking about........
